Young people at 198 CAL developed their Youth Enterprise ‘HustleBucks’ in 2010. Their idea was to create a social enterprise which provides opportunities and enables them to voice the issues that affect their lives and futures communicated through a youth fashion brand. HustleBucks also offers print and design services to the wider community with a retail unit based at The HustleBucks shop in Brixton Village.
Young People have the opportunity to learn design and business skills and create products that are sold at 198’s outlet in Brixton Market. We are currently offering work experience opportunities and the chance for young people to retail their products in the HustleBucks shop.
If you would like to get involved in Hustlebucks and are Brixton based – you can access courses in Graphic Design, Illustration and Photography through 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning and once you have the skills you can start to contribute ideas and designs for our new collections.
If you need to gain some valuable work experience to get that first step on the career ladder we can train you in retail and print production and provide business mentoring for young people with great ideas and are ready to put them into action.
For further details on work experience or product retail please contact Kareen Williams – Head of Creative Development.
